Portraits of a Sacred Place

When Param Tomanec invited me to write about his photography for the Museum of Sacred Art catalogue, I was delighted to hear that his photographs and film were to be shown in a solo exhibition focusing on the tradition and historical significance of pilgrimage in India. Being familiar for a number of years with Param’s visual interpretations of India – its culture, landscapes, and people – I felt that the Museum of Sacred Art in Belgium is one of the most suitable places for his work to be celebrated.
